Homemade Mayonnaise

Fully customizable mayonnaise recipe to suit your family's tastes

  • 1 Clove garlic
  • 2 fresh eggs
  • 1/4 Cup white vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon French (Dijon) mustard
  • 1/4 Cup fresh herbs / sundried tomatoes / etc (your choice & optional)
  • 1 1/2 Cups sunflower or olive oil


  1. Add everything except for the olive oil to a blender, and blend until smooth.

  2. Slowly add the olive oil and blend until it thickens.

  3. Keep refrigerated and eat within two weeks.

Recipe Notes

Top Tip: This is DELICIOUS on hamburgers instead of tomato sauce and we often take some with us to braais and picnics.
